In a world seemingly determined to strip us of our joy, community, and humanity, I believe that pursuing fulfillment and happiness in our lives is a radical act. My approach in therapy and my own life has been characterized by a good sense of humor and a strong imaginative spirit. While my current training is focused on relational work with families and couples, I approach all people with the knowledge that no one exists in a vacuum, and the ecosystem of your relationships can have a deeply profound impact on how you present yourself in your daily life.
Intersectionality is a core value for me, both as a therapist and as a human being. Living my life as a lesbian and a woman of color, using intersectionality has been essential to understanding myself. Acknowledging and analyzing how society’s prejudices have shaped your understanding of the world will be a key feature of the work we do together.
I aim to make the therapeutic environment as warm and inviting as possible for all my clients. I understand that it is frightening to open yourself up to a stranger, so making sure we connect as people and building our rapport over time are top priorities as we start treatment. I look forward to getting to know you, and don’t hesitate to reach out!
